Huawei Bags Deal from Bharti Airtel for Network Expansion in Africa

Huawei and Bharti Airtel have signed an agreement for network infrastructure update and expansion in Africa for US$400 million, according to a July 8, 2011 report by the Shenzhen Post. As per the agreement, Huawei will design, plan, modernize, and expand Bharti Airtel's network. It is projected that Huawei will also be in charge of facility management and maintenance. It is reported that Huawei will deploy complete GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) and 3G product portfolio for Bharti Airtel.
